ACIL - ACIL is a national trade association representing independent, commercial engineering and scientific laboratory, testing, consulting and Research and Development firms. ANSI - The Institute oversees the creation, promulgation and use of thousands of norms and guidelines that directly impact businesses in nearly every sector: from acoustical devices to construction equipment, from dairy and livestock production to energy distribution, and many more. ANSI is also actively engaged in accrediting programs that assess conformance to standards – including globally-recognized cross-sector programs such as the ISO 9000 (quality) and ISO 14000 (environmental) management systems. ANSI ASC C63R (EMC) -American National Standards Institute Accredited Standards Committee C63R whose scope is the development of definitions and methods of measurement of electromagnetic noise and signal strengths (radiated and conducted), determination of levels of signal strength, levels of unwanted sources, limiting ratio of noise (and/or unwanted sources) to signals and development of methods of control of, and guidelines for influence, coupling and immunity. Where subjects dealt with overlap with those of other national committees, appropriate liaison will be established. To accomplish the above activities, C63® develops electromagnetic compatibility standards documents which via its secretariat publishes, archives and sells these standards to the general public. Federal Communications Commission - FCC - The mission of the FCC is to encourage competition in all communications markets and to protect the public interest. In response to direction from the Congress, the FCC develops and implements policy concerning interstate and international communications by radio, television, wire, satellite, and cable. Food and Drug Administration - FDA - The Food and Drug Administration is an agency of the United States Government whose mission is to protect, promote and enhance the health of the American people. IEC - The International Electrotechnical Commission is the international standards and conformity assessment body for all fields of electrotechnology. IEEE Standards Association- An International membership organization serving today's industries with a complete portfolio of standards programs. NARTE is a worldwide, non-profit, professional credentialing association which certifies qualified engineers and technicians in the fields of telecommunications, EMC/EMI, product safety, electrostatic discharge control and wireless system installation. International Telecommunications Union - ITU - The ITU, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland is an international organization within which governments and the private sector coordinate global telecom networks and services. ITU activities include the coordination, development, regulation and standardization of telecommunications and organization of regional and world Telecom events. National Institute of Standards and Technology - NIST - The National Institute of Standards and Technology was established by Congress "to assist industry in the development of technology . . . needed to improve product quality, to modernize manufacturing processes, to ensure product reliability . . . and to facilitate rapid commercialization . . . of products based on new scientific discoveries." National Cooperation for Laboratory Accreditation - NACLA - NACLA's primary mission is to evaluate U.S. laboratory accreditation bodies (ABs) and to grant recognition to those ABs found to be in compliance with NACLA procedures and the relevant international standards for competent ABs. (NACLA does not itself accredit laboratories.) NACLA also provides educational and training opportunities to persons interested in laboratory accreditation. U.S. Department of Labor - Occupational Safety and Health Administration - OSHA - The mission of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is to save lives, prevent injuries and protect the health of America's workers. To accomplish this, federal and state governments must work in partnership with the more than 100 million working men and women and their six and a half million employers who are covered by the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970. U.S. EMC Standards Corporation - The US EMC Standards Corporation intends to support EMC Standards in the United States including specific support of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Accredited Standards Committee (ASC) on EMC (See above link). The Corporation is managed by a Board of Directors and the business of the corporation is handled by a group of dedicated volunteers. U.S. National Committee of the IEC - The U.S. National Committee of the International Electrotechnical Commission (USNC/IEC) serves as the focal point for U.S. parties who are interested in the development, promulgation and use of globally-relevant standards for the electotechnical industry.
